The Mantra Om Namo Narayanaya was given to humanity to be used in times of need. It invokes the preserving energy of Lord Vishnu, generating powerful waves of harmony and peace. In 1987, Swami Vishnudevananda established what he called the Om Namo Narayanaya Mantra Bank in a small crevice at the summit of Vishnu Peak in the Himalayas,15,000 feet above sea level. The purpose was to create a strong energy of positivity. Since then, millions of mantras written by devotees and students from around the world have been collected and deposited there.
